Does your bike become uncomfortable as the miles build

You might feel fine at the start, then spend the rest of your ride shifting on the saddle, shaking out your hands or trying to find a comfortable position.

A bike fit helps you understand how your setup affects the way you sit, pedal and support yourself.

We can assess fitting factors that may contribute to:

  • Saddle pressure, soreness or chafing

  • Numb hands and tired shoulders

  • Tight shoes, hot spots or tingling feet

  • Knee, hip or lower-back discomfort

  • Feeling stretched, cramped or unstable

  • Difficulty holding your position on longer rides

Simon looks at your whole setup, then makes and tests changes with your feedback.

A bike fit shaped around your
Brighton riding

A short commute through Brighton and Hove places different demands on your position from a long ride into the South Downs. Tell Simon about your usual routes, ride length and any upcoming events. That helps him assess the support and position you need for the time you spend on the bike.

What we assess

What happens during your bike fit

irst, we discuss your cycling, goals, previous injuries and any discomfort. Next, Simon assesses your movement and records your current riding position using 60 FPS video motion analysis, bike measurements and your feedback.

  • Saddle height, setback and tilt
  • Handlebar reach, height and hand support
  • Cycling shoe fit, cleat position and foot support
  • Pedalling movement and left-to-right differences
  • Saddle choice and pressure distribution where relevant
  • How your position suits your bike and riding discipline

Simon adjusts and retests your setup in stages. He explains the reason for each change and records your final fit measurements and recommendations.

01. Understand

We discuss your riding, goals, injuries and discomfort, then assess how your body moves.

02. Measure

Motion analysis and hands-on testing show what is happening at your feet, saddle and handlebars.

03. Refine

We adjust, retest and explain each change, then give you measurements and support after the session.

A bike fit shaped around the way you ride in Brighton

Riding around Brighton and Hove can mean steady miles along the coast, climbs into the South Downs or short journeys through town.

Each places different demands on your position. Simon considers your usual routes, ride duration and goals when assessing your setup.

Road cycling

From coastal rides through Hove and Shoreham to longer outings towards Ditchling Beacon, your position should support both sustained pedalling and confident handling.

We assess saddle position, handlebar reach and foot support to help you stay comfortable as the distance and effort increase.

Gravel and mountain biking

Off-road riding around the South Downs combines seated pedalling with regular changes in body position.

Your fit needs to support comfort while giving you room to move. We consider cockpit position, contact points and balance for the terrain you ride.

Triathlon and time trials

An aero position needs to work for the duration of your event. We assess how comfortably you can hold it alongside your pedalling, support and control.

For triathletes, we also consider the demands of the bike leg and the run that follows.

Commuting and leisure riding

You do not need to race or ride long distances to benefit from a bike fit.

Whether you commute through Brighton, ride along Hove seafront or enjoy weekend outings, we can help you find a position that feels more manageable and comfortable.
