Road Bike Fitting at Bike Fit Labs

At Bike Fit Labs, we know every cyclist is different. That’s why a good fit isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s about matching your bike to your body so you can ride comfortably, efficiently, and without pain. Whether you’re chasing podiums or just love long days in the saddle, we’ll help you get more out of every ride.

Is a professional Bike Fit worth it?

There’s a lot of advice out there about bike fitting, and yeah—you could try doing a bike fit yourself. But here’s the thing: no two riders are the same. Online guides and apps won’t account for your flexibility, your riding style, or the small tweaks that turn an OK fit into a great one.

Your body and your position on the bike change over time, too. That’s why we recommend getting a bike fit every couple of years. It’s a smart way to stay in sync with your bike, avoid injury, and keep riding at your best.

Why a Professional Road Bike Fitting Matters

  • More Comfort on Every Ride A proper road bike fit helps eliminate those common aches, pains, and pressure points. You’ll be able to ride longer—and enjoy it more.
  • Better Efficiency With your position dialled in, you’ll transfer more power through each pedal stroke. That means more speed with less effort.
  • Fewer Injuries A good bike fitting supports the way your body moves. It helps reduce the strain that leads to common overuse injuries.
  • Improved Performance Whether you’re racing, training, or just out for a long ride, a tailored bike fit helps you ride stronger and more confidently by building on your natural strengths.

Our Process

Interview

We start with a relaxed chat to set the tone. Grab a coffee, take a seat, and tell us about your riding.

We’ll talk about your goals, any aches or past injuries, and how things feel on the bike right now. It’s a chance for us to understand your story—where you’ve been, what’s working, and what’s not—so we can shape the fit around you.

Physical Assessment

To get your road bike fit spot on, we first need to understand how your body moves. We kick things off with a standing assessment, checking posture, foot stability, spinal alignment, and any imbalances or asymmetries.

Next, we look at your range of motion—how your hamstrings, quads, glutes, and hips are working. We’ll also assess your feet and check for any leg length differences. Every detail counts when it comes to comfort and performance, and this step helps us build a bike fitting that’s right for you.

Foot Assessment

One of the most important parts of a bike fit is also one of the most overlooked—the connection between your foot, shoe, and pedal. It’s the foundation of your fit. If that’s off, your power, comfort, and control suffer.

That’s why we take our time here. We’ll check your shoe fit—especially if you’re in the market for something better. As an official Lake Cycling Shoe dealer, we can help you find the right model and size to match your feet. Then we assess your cleat position and fine-tune your support using custom insoles and advanced foot correction. These small changes can have a big impact on how you ride and how you feel on the bike.

Position Adjustment

Once your feet are properly supported, we move on to fine-tuning your road bike position. We start with saddle height and setback to find the right balance between power and comfort. Then we dial in your reach, handlebar drop, and overall cockpit setup.

Along the way, we look at key components like crank length, bar width, and saddle choice—making sure everything works with your body, not against it. Using video capture and saddle pressure mapping, we get a full view of your movement from all angles. That way, every adjustment is based on real data—not guesswork.
